There are 3 main ones atm.

    Eirsoft

Main Irish Airsoft - I'd assume this is the biggest.

Go Tactical Ltd - Don't know anything about this place, but it's quite new.

Furthermore, I would urge one and all to buy my autobiography "when I put the barrel on the bonnet, even though it was meant to be on the boot".

Only been to MIA myself, friendly guys (even gave me loose change for the M50 toll-bridge!).
Would recommend, if you are looking for something in particular check with them if its in stock, coz everything just flies out.

Seems like the prices for aeg's at Go Tactical are a bit on the high side.

Havent dealt with Eirsoft, but what I've read they are good.

Go Tactical's a new place in Bray, Co. Wicklow. I hear he's giving special discounts to teams. Tony in Eirsoft is a top man and I have to back down to him again. Heard good things about M.I.A from John who runs Drogheda Airsoft, some friends have dealt with them already and I should be heading to the shop myself in the next week or so. There's also Irishairsoftsupplies.ie. I don't think they have a shop but you can collect your order at HRTA in Co. Swords. Man, we've gotten a lot of shops all of a sudden.

Indeed it's good news all round. But even if you're not close to any of the shops there's always internet shopping. The up side of dealing with Irish suppliers online is all the gear's already in the country and has been downgraded to legal limits. So no problems with customs. Plus it's only a few days wait.
Also I hear tell of a shop in Navan selling airsoft guns. More info when I get it.

If you go down to ROI and buy an airsoft gun, does it have to conform to VCRA if you are a UK citizen? it would be great if it didnt....

No, the VCRA does not apply to the ROI.

However, if you did bring a gun that you bought in the South up here, then it would be classed as importing, which still does require you to be over 18, and be able to prove that you can use the airsoft defence.

Furthermore, I would urge one and all to buy my autobiography "when I put the barrel on the bonnet, even though it was meant to be on the boot".

Dammit. I hate the UK, but aint anything I can do about it....got another question though, can I go to an airsoft site and get registered even though I'm not 18? or would it be completely pointless?

I'm sure you could, but yeah, it would be pretty pointless.

so what would you need to do to keep legal in regards to bring guns up hear yourself?? i have a little trip down south planned next month and was planning on checking some of the shops out n maybe buying something.

As long as you can provide evidence if that your a skirmisher if asked by law, then it's fine - and your over 18.

E.g Site Registration, UKARA registration etc.

No legal method has been specifically said, but those are the main things that customs have said to use.

Furthermore, I would urge one and all to buy my autobiography "when I put the barrel on the bonnet, even though it was meant to be on the boot".

I'm sure it would be very easy to smuggle over, seeing as the guns can not only be taken apart and hidden, but ROI+NI have been at it 78+ years...not that I'm gonna try anythin like that, just pointing out obvious flaws. I reckon that customs and border patrol don't give a damn anyway, you could probably just drive over and back without seein a single Garda and so forth...but the laws the law, better to follow it than risk jail for an airsoft gun. Thanks for the advice Beast.
